Kiss Cutting
Kiss cutting is for materials with an adhesive backing. We use a special die cutting machine to cut through the gasket material and the adhesive backing without cutting the release liner. At REDCO, we can remove the excess matrix or leave it in place – it depends on your preferences. Kiss cut parts on a sheet or roll are easy to remove, which expedites assembly processes.
Besides kiss cut gaskets, some other kiss cut products include silicone press pads, insulators, separators, thermal shielding, vibration mounts, thermal barriers, noise and vibration dampeners, high-performance seals, MilSpec nameplates, and many other products and applications.

When gasket materials require a pressure-sensitive adhesive, they can either be cut individually or be “kiss cut.” Kiss cutting is a precision process that cuts through the actual gasket material and adhesive without cutting through the protective release liner.
With kiss cutting, REDCO is able to supply parts on a continuous roll or in card form, improving handling and application issues for small, high-volume parts, and making storage more convenient.
A wide variety of standard 3M materials and an endless number of custom materials and pressure sensitive adhesives can be used with the “kiss cutting” process.
